I use drawing and installation to create environments from different aspects of the everyday to address constructs of memory and meaning. My work examines the role of reflection and imagination in the construction of place.
The notion of temporality in my work is key: rather than viewing the subject as a fixed entity, integrating multiple voices, perspectives and histories allows me to explore the flexible and interrelated nature of subjectivity. The element of reflection in my work serves as a way to replay three states of self concurrently—was, is, and will be are not restrictive points of our self-understanding, but rather a continuously fluid simultaneity of being.
I often rearrange components to create new contexts for my work. I wish to explore how these images inform our evolving sense of self.
